Goddesses Saraswathi and Maha Lakshmi dress up Meenatchi in bridal attire and escort Her into the wedding hall. Lord Vishnu, the brother of Meenatchi, is held up by His devotees and is absent from the wedding. Lord Shiva Himself takes the form of Maha Vishnu and performs the marrying-off ritual (Kannigathaanam). Witnessed by Sages Narada and Agathiyar and overseen by Lord Ganesha, Lord Brahma conducts the wedding as the Chief Presiding Priest. The philosophy behind certain post-marriage Hindu rites are also explained. The wedding feast prepared to feed thousands of guests is single-handedly finished by the Celestial Being, Gundotharan. The song is very well sung by Vani Jayram and K. J. Jesudass.
