Ujjagar Singh, an artist from Patiala, is performing here a West Punjabi song at Punjabi University Patiala's 2004 Lok Sangeet Mela (Folk Music Festival). The song evokes the romantic image of a camel driver, who in Punjabi culture is code for a "beloved," seeing that several of the love stories of the region involve the hero riding a camel (e.g. Sassi-Punnu, Dhol-Sammi). *At the end a minor local celebrity came by to sit in my area, with the usual flunkies in tow, so my shot of the rest of the performance was ruined!
