Italian / English. Lago di Place Moulin e Prarayer Il lago di Prarayer è un bacino artificiale racchiuso tra le montagne dell'alta valle di Bionaz. Gli fanno da sfondo le Petites e le Grandes Murailles con i loro maestosi ghiacciai. E' lo specchio d'acqua più grande della regione ed è una delle dighe più grandi d'europa. L'itinerario costituisce una piacevole passeggiata pianeggiante che, dall'imponente muro di contenimento di Place Moulin, conduce all'accogliente rifugio di Prarayer costeggiando il lago, per circa quattro chilometri. ( dal sito uff. della regione VdA)--------------- ---The artificial Lake of Place Moulin was built as a feeder for hydroelectric power in the 50's and 60's. It has a 155-metre high wall and a 678-metre long crown. It is one of the biggest arched dams in Europe: a huge turquoise fjord that emerges in the heart of the Alpine chain. A 6-kilometre long path along the shore on the right of the dam enables mountain-bike-lovers to undertake healthy physical activity in unique landscapes. Fishing-lowers will also get satisfaction in the waters of the dam and along the Buthier, which is the main torrent in the Valpelline.
